About Kristi

Meet your doula

I believe every family deserves to be prepared and feel cared for, no matter what their birth looks like.

Kristi Fulton, birth and postpartum doula

A calling, not just a career

I'm a second-generation Wyomingite. For twenty years I've had the joy of being a stay-at-home mom, twelve of those years spent homeschooling. My two wonderful boys were both born in the hospital naturally, with the loving support of my husband, during a time when midwifery was illegal in Wyoming.

My own birth experiences, my friends' experiences, as well as birth attendances from the age of sixteen to today, opened my heart to this calling and the joy of walking alongside families through their birthing journeys. I'm a collector of birth stories, a major birth nerd and an honorary "Aunt Kristi" to more kids than I can count.

I love feeding people, taking care of them and their kids, and building a community village for all. I'm fiercely protective of my family, not very tech-savvy, and love shopping and iced coffee.

As a wise and supportive friend

Exploring Your Hopes

I take time to understand your vision for birth, whatever that looks like for your family. Then I provide you with the knowledge and support you need to get there.

A Focus on Empowerment

I'm in your corner. From our first meeting to your last postpartum visit, I'm making sure you're the one calling the shots.

Mom-Centric & Empathetic

My focus is always on the parents, ensuring their voice and preferences are at the center of every decision. You are never an afterthought.

Constant Advocacy

With me by your side, you have a fierce advocate. If something doesn't feel right, I'll push back and make sure your wishes don't get lost in the shuffle.

A Source of Calm

If chaos happens, I'm there to remind you that for right now, the whole world can shrink down to just mama and baby working together to make birth happen.

Beyond the Birth Room

My care doesn't end when the baby arrives. I stay through the immediate postpartum hours, and then come to you at home to check in on recovery and feeding.

To educate, advocate,
and protect your birth journey

Gentle Education

I take tangled topics and lay them out in plain terms, so you walk away with the clarity and confidence to make choices that feel right for you. No judgment, no pressure, just room to decide in your own time. Whatever you choose, I'm right here.

Steadfast Advocacy

Your voice, your wishes, your choices, those come first, always. I'll stand right beside you, making sure everyone truly hears what matters to you and honors it. If things get loud or move fast, I'm the one who remembers what you asked for.

Unwavering Protection

I'm here while everything else feels loud and unsettled. My job is to keep things calm around you so you can put your energy where it matters, into your birth. You shouldn't have to brace for anything. I've got you.

"It's not about attending a birth. It's about creating a space where you are heard (even if you whisper), where you are respected (even if you just peed a little on the floor), where you are empowered (even if you've been running on empty for hours)."

Common Questions

What exactly does a doula do?

A doula offers continuous emotional, physical, and informational support before, during, and after birth. I'm not a medical provider, I'm your steady presence: someone who helps you feel heard, prepared, and confident as you navigate pregnancy, birth, and the early days of parenthood.

What's the difference between a doula and a midwife?

A midwife is a medical provider who handles clinical care: monitoring your health, catching your baby, and managing any medical needs. A doula doesn't provide medical care. Instead, I focus entirely on your comfort, emotional wellbeing, and advocacy, working alongside your midwife or doctor rather than in place of them.

Can my partner still be involved if I have a doula?

Absolutely, having a doula only adds to your partner's role. I'm there to support both of you, offering guidance on how your partner can help in the moment, stepping in when they need a break, and making sure you both feel cared for throughout the experience.
